I have decided to play through my iTunes library in alphabetical order by album title. My goal is to clean up all the stuff that is mislabeled and get rid of all the stuff that I never listen to. As I am starting right now I have 12,931 items, 47.5 days, and 61.64 GBs of music to go through. My rules are as follows;
Must listen straight through each album in alphabetical order. The only exception to this rule is when someone around me (car mate, office mate, wife, etc) requests that I stop and/or play something else.
Only delete full albums, unless it’s a comp or best of, then one song at a time can go.
If I can’t listen to most of the album (approximately 51%), the whole album has to go. This sounds a lot harsher than it is, but since I rarly buy a full album for just one song, it won’t be too difficult. I’m not expecting many causalities from it.
None of these rules apply to Christmas music. We have to think of the children.
I can only take a break from this marathon on the days between 11/27 and 12/26. This is when Christmas music can (not must) be played.
I hold the right to modify these rules at anytime for any reason. I mean, it’s my music, right?
