I’ve been trying to lose 30ish pounds now for some time and nothing has really inspired me to continue any eating plan. But last week Heidi and I were watching Alton Brown (which we do love so) and he laid out an eating plan that seems simple enough to follow. I will eat from the daily list every day, the 3 times a week at least that often, from the once a week list no more than that and the never list… well, never.
Daily
- Fruits
- Whole Grains
- Leafy Greens
- Nuts
- Carrots
- Green Tea
3 times a week
- Oily Fish
- Yogurt
- Broccoli
- Sweet Potato
- Avocado
Once a week
- Red meat
- Pasta
- Dessert
- Alcohol
Never
- Fast Food
- Soda
- Processed meals/frozen dinners
- Canned soup
- “Diet” anything
Eat breakfast every day, no exceptions.
Like I said, I haven’t been able to stick to a real plan, but this one seems simple enough. Plus, I still get some great food. Like his Sherried Sardine Toast.
