Free Gifts. Aren’t All Gifts Free?
I have been thinking about ways to help churches that are going to use The City gettheir congregation excited about it. When we launched, we had posters and t-shirts made up. I think these are things I want to continue using, but I’m interested in other items, or SCHWAG (is that what it’s called?) that I can give to the staff as a welcome gift.
I asked this question on Twitter and got some good ideas;
- Room-a-rang
- Throw Boy Pillows
- USB Snow Globe
- Money Clip
- Backpack/cooler
- Zune (even though I said cool ideas)
- Flashy pen
- BBQ seasoning
I like these ideas (most of them). I want to make sure that what I’m giving out isn’t trash, that it’s useful and fits the church in question (for instance, I’d give a t-shirt to Mark Driscoll but I’d have to find a polo or button up for John Piper).
Sound off and let me know of some other ideas of things you’ve received. Also, bonus points if you can tell me what SCHWAG stands for or where it came from.
